Acorn Wood is situated in the perfect location, being on the edge of the village of Burton Upon Stather it takes just 8 mins to walk into he centre where you can find local shops, dog friendly pubs that do great food as well as an array of dog walking oppertunities.

We have a Bus stop just a couple of minutes walk from.

Bus Stop

If you go out of the gate, turn left and walk down the road a couple of hundrred yards you will find the bus shelter. The No.60 

From the Bus stop opposite Tee Lane, you can get into Scunthorpe and jump off and many stops along the way or go all the way to the bus staion in the centre of Scunthorpe.

Coming back you can pick up the bus at the bus station at Stand H and get off at Tee Lane

Acorn Wood has lots of walking oppertunities direct from our gate. Whether its just a stoll around the village you are wanting to do, or take your dog for some exercise there is something interesting to see everywhay you turn. Take a close look a the bicycles that are part of the village Burton In Bloom, each one tells a different story.

Local Pubs 

The Sheffield Arms is the closest of the pubs, just wak out the gate turn left and follow the road its just a few minutes walk (approx 8 mins walk). Its open 7 days a week ( but this can change in the winter please ask to double check times) and betweem 8am and 11am you can get an all you can eat full english breakfast. They have a full food menu as well as carvery with lots of meat choices. Booking in advance is recommended especially for Sunday lunch carvery. 

The Ferry House Pub aka he bottom pub is located at the bottom of darby Road near the Wharf. If you go past The Sheffield Arms nd carry on down the hill yu will arrive at the Ferry House Pub and the Riverside Restaurant. The restaurant is open Friday - Sunday and you are recommended to book in advance to avoid being disappointed.

Both pubs have lots going on all through the year with events and live music and are both dog friendly.
